Website accessibility

We have invested significant resources to ensure that our website is as accessible as possible so that people with disabilities have no barriers to interaction or access to digital content. Digital information and services are accessible when they can be easily perceived and understood by all people, including people who have visual, hearing, motor or cognitive disabilities.

Accessibility on the website is additionally ensured by the program plugin on website accessibility »Widget – accessibility menu«. This addition enables the website to improve its compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1 Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), and the Law on Accessibility of Websites and Software Solutions for Mobile Devices of Public Sector Bodies (NN 017/2019).

The accessibility menu on the website can be activated by clicking the accessibility menu icon that appears in the lower right corner of the page. After launching the accessibility menu, please wait a moment for the accessibility menu to load completely.

Made adjustments to the website

With the Accessibility Menu, when creating and publishing content, we take care that it is accessible to people with disabilities, the elderly and/or people with reduced abilities in such a way that certain criteria are met (WCAG 2.0):

  • every published photo should be accompanied by an “alt tag” with a description of the content of the photo
  • texts are aligned to the left to make it easier for people with concentration disorders to read and in a size that corresponds to 16 pt in printed materials
  • background and text contrasts are in prescribed proportions wherever possible
  • links in most cases have a description of the location they lead to
  • there is no audio or video content on the page that starts by itself without user interaction
  • the page can be controlled using the keyboard
  • published texts are in a font that can be understood by voice text readers, which can be increased and decreased by means of the Accessibility Menu, and free extensions that can be embedded in the Internet browsers
  • page contrast can be changed
  • there are no forms or scripts on the page whose execution is time-limited
  • the page is responsive and adapted to displays on all devices
  • there is no automatic language change of the texts on the page, which would confuse users
  • due to better readability and easier navigation, special attention was paid to the spacing between elements on the page and the consistency of navigation, and the same
  • can be additionally regulated through the accessibility menu
  • colors or graphics are not crucial and are not the only criteria for some content to be accessible and visible

Inaccessible content

Exceptions to compliance are manifested in the following:

  • although most elements are designed according to the HTML5 standard, some elements are not adequately marked so that blind and partially sighted people can use assistive technology
  • the names of individual links should more specifically specify the content behind them
  • before filling out the forms, the user should be offered instructions for filling them out
  • some of the PDF documents are not readable by screen readers because they are provided in an image format that screen readers cannot read
